In collaboration with several University Research Institutes and with Research Centres in Italy and abroad (San Raffaele Hospital Milan, Italy; Pharmacological Sciences Institute and General Pathology Institute of the University of Milan, Molecular Genetics Institute of the CNR Pavia; Research Institute IRCCS San Matteo Pavia, Physiology institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) concerns the study of cytokynetic parameters in different cell systems in culture, under drug treatment or physical stress, and the the study of the mechanisms inducing apoptotic cell death with special reference to the apoptogenic action of photosensitizing molecules (Projects Prin 2002-2003 and 2005-2007). More recently, in collaboration with University of Salento, Italy, the research activitiy has been focussed on the study in vivo and in vitro of neurotoxic effects of cisplatin, and of cisplatin compounds. Particulary, is studying the processes of apoptosis and autophagy in neural cultured cells (Project Prin 2009, Project Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia).
